When the pandemic hit in 2020, senior service agencies were faced with an immediate social isolation problem. Even though shelter-in-place measures, lockdowns, and visitor restrictions for seniors intend to uplift their safety, the byproduct of these restrictions is an extreme level of social isolation that can be life threatening.

 

Virtual technology is an effective way to reach out and provide the engagement that our members and community desperately needs for their mental, social, and physical health.

Encore has found a solution to not only engage with our members by adding virtual programs but offer virtual programs for all ages. Experiences span from crossword puzzles to free books to read online, yoga, stretching, tai chi to wildlife web cams, free virtual tours of ancient architecture, discovery channel field trips to a variety of educational courses and ted talks.
